WE ARE ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS FOR THE BALFOUR BEATTY HOUSING CRISIS

Seeking Justice for Systemic Neglect at NAS Key West

Military families have an absolute right to expect safe air at home —we cannot be mission ready if our people are sick. When the institutions entrusted with your safety fail, our team steps in to enforce the safety rules, hold wrongdoers accountable, and pursue the financial recovery you need to rebuild your health and your life

As part of our commitment to holding private contractors responsible for toxic housing, Just Well Law has partnered with McKee Law Group and Cooper & Kirk to represent the military families at NAS Key West who faced severe consequences from institutional neglect. Our investigation exposed a pattern of deceptive practices and corporate negligence that left military families in dangerous, unsafe conditions for years.

Take the first step toward justice today.

A Pattern of Fraud and Institutional Failure

The crisis at Naval Air Station Key West is a systematic failure to provide safe military housing promised to families who serve our country. Balfour Beatty, a private contractor for a multi-billion-dollar military housing monopoly, cut corners, ignored dangerous conditions, and profited while residents were subjected to unconscionable living spaces. This case centers on a decade-long pattern of behavior where corporate profits were explicitly prioritized over the physical health of service members.

Balfour Beatty left families in deteriorating homes marked by severe water damage, structural defects, and continuous exposure to Stachybotrys (black mold). Residents uncovered mushrooms growing out of carpets, standing water inside HVAC systems, and crumbling walls. Despite repeated, urgent pleas for help, private operators chose to ignore environmental hazards and reportedly falsified repair records to collect performance bonuses.

For these families, the physical symptoms are the concrete receipts of corporate neglect. The human cost of living in these toxic environments includes documented immune dysfunction, deep neurological damage, and chronic respiratory injuries.

The Rights of Service Members

Families have the right to expect safe, habitable homes. Especially on a U.S. military installation. Our service members cannot remain mission-ready while battling housing conditions that make them, their spouses, and their children sick.

Demanding Accountability for the NAS Key West Military Housing Crisis

Balfour Beatty contractors cut corners and ignored dangerous infrastructure defects. We represent military families in the movement to hold them responsible.

We understand that financial recovery is a necessary, non-negotiable step to rebuild your health and your life. Together, we will send a message to Balfour Beatty: safe housing is essential for the well-being of our military communities. As a leader in privatized military housing management, they have a responsibility to ensure that the properties they manage are safe and free from harm.

Your Symptoms are Evidence

The evidence of this institutional neglect is written in the medical records of the families who lived there. Our legal team represents service members and their families pursuing recovery for conditions that include:

Your physical symptoms are the biological receipts of a corporate system that failed to protect the families it was entrusted to serve. The justice system relies on safety rules to safeguard our communities, but the system only works when brave people step forward to bring these claims.
