Fort Worth Report: Tarrant County Jury Awards $21.6 Million to Family in Toxic Home Case

A Tarrant County jury awarded $21.6 million to Ronny and Mandy McCoy and their family after finding that serious construction defects exposed them to sewer gas, mold, and hazardous conditions inside their North Texas home.

After years of reported health problems and unsuccessful attempts to address the defects, the family was forced to leave their home and has been living in an RV on the property.

Represented by attorneys Kristina Baehr, Sabine Wakim, and Maggie Neusel of Just Well Law, the McCoys secured a verdict that underscores the importance of holding builders accountable for the safety of the homes they construct.

The family’s story and the jury’s findings were featured in the Fort Worth Report.
