Real Client Success Stories

"Kristina was an angel and advocated for me when I couldn’t advocate for myself."

Case Environment:

Residential Apartment

How Exposure Happened:

Airborne toxic mold traveling through common building hallways into individual units.

Injuries & Impact:

Severe neurological issues; forced to give up an active lifestyle and nursing career.

Property Misconduct:

Landlord intentionally hid the mold, masked odors with air fresheners, and ignored complaints.

“I have always been athletic my whole life. I was a dancer. I do yoga and nursing had the best social life. I’m not that person anymore.

There were signs for years, but I always just blamed it on something else. It wasn’t until I started getting neurological issues that I realized something was really wrong.

I saw mold in my apartment building, but it was in the hallway, and not knowing how truly airborne it is, I didn’t realize, one, that it was coming into my home, and two, that my home had it just as horribly.

They knew there was mold. They would intentionally cover it up at the expense of tenants. They would just clean exterior vents, put air fresheners in wall cavities to hide it, even with complaints.

I think Kristina has an immense purpose on this earth. She has been an angel to me. She has advocated for me in the best way possible when I felt like I couldn’t advocate for myself. They’re always there.”

"We thought it was a behavioral issue, then we found black mold hiding in the HVAC."

Case Environment:

Rented Single-Family Home

How Exposure Happened:

Toxic black mold colonizing the ceiling and interior components of the residential HVAC climate control system.

Injuries & Impact:

Pediatric toxic exposure triggering acute physical illnesses alongside severe neurological and behavioral symptoms (atypical aggression misdiagnosed as potential ADHD or autism spectrum shifts).

Property Misconduct:

Landlord and multiple corporate contractors (including cleaning services and HVAC technicians) actively refused to test or document the contamination as "mold."

“He was aggressive towards me and his dad. He was aggressive to his friends. It was really weird behavior, and I was like, ‘Oh, maybe this is normal childhood behavior.’ But then, as I was talking to other moms, they were like, ‘No, my kids aren’t really like that.’ Or if they were aggressive when they were younger, they grew out of it. And I was wondering, why is he not growing out of this?

We actually were like, ‘Is he on the spectrum? Is it ADHD? How can we support him?’ Then in December of 2023, he had just illness after illness. He could kick and scream, and that was the same time that I found the mold in our home.

And then I’m like, ‘Wait, could this do something like this to our child?’ I happened to look up at the ceiling and I saw black stuff around my ceiling, and I was like, ‘What is that?’

Literally two days later, I was changing the filter in our HVAC. I had never looked in an HVAC before — renters usually have no reason to except to change the filter. I was curious, so I looked up, and there was black stuff all around the top of our HVAC.

We asked them to send a certified mold specialist to come and test what we’d been breathing, because, I mean, it was everywhere. We got contractors. We got HVAC technicians. We got Stanley Steemer. No one would test for mold. No one wanted to see what was actually going on. They did not want to call it mold.

We got in touch with the previous tenant of the home, and we found out that they had also known about the mold exposure and had been sick as well.”

"They make a process that's really scary seem not so scary."

Case Environment:

Residential Apartment (Austin, TX)

How Exposure Happened:

Neglected property maintenance leading to visible mold and mildew throughout the unit's ice maker, freezer, bathroom shower, and a rusted HVAC infrastructure.

Injuries & Impact:

Proactive evacuation to avoid severe health complications; psychological stress of navigating an unlivable home environment.

Property Misconduct:

Handed over an uncleaned, unmaintained unit to a new tenant and failed to perform proper remediation once the structural issues were explicitly presented.

“I moved into an apartment here in Austin, and when I first moved in, the apartment was not ready for someone to live in. I could see that they hadn’t cleaned very well. The vents had either mold or mildew on them. I found mold in the ice maker, mold in the freezer, mold in the shower. The HVAC — the bottom was all rusted — and so I looked above it and I found the bolts. It’s clear they didn’t perform maintenance or ongoing preventative maintenance on the unit. It’s clear that even whenever I presented them the problem, they didn’t fix it properly for me. You know, it’s not about money. It’s not about any of that. It’s about ensuring that the people who do this and who have these apartments and stuff don’t do this to other people. I love working with Just because they’re really professional and they’re really proactive. They’re available whenever I need them. They typically send updates every two weeks, and small things like that are really the reason why I’ve enjoyed working with them so much, because they make this process that’s really scary seem not so scary.”

"What meant the most was not having to constantly explain myself or prove that something happened."

Case Environment:

Rented Residential Property

How Exposure Happened:

Extensive, hidden water damage underneath kitchen and living room cabinetry, resulting in white and black fuzzy mold colonizing the fresh air intake filtration system.

Injuries & Impact:

Severe, acute situational anxiety and long-term financial / personal disruption caused by a 14-month continuous displacement in hotels.

Property Misconduct:

Property management routinely cut corners on basic maintenance and structural construction, ignoring underlying water leaks until the mold became airborne.

“It all started with a rental property that completely caught me by surprise. I was fortunate enough to avoid the absolute worst outcome, but at first, I thought it was just a typical issue with a contractor — nothing major. As a business owner, you try to figure things out piece by piece. But the deeper I looked, the more problems I uncovered. What started in the closet spread to the living room, then the kitchen, and underneath the cabinets where there were visible signs of water damage. I still wasn’t sure if I was overreacting, so I called an outside mold assessment company just to tell me whether I was crazy or not. They came in and basically said, ‘No, you’re not crazy.’ Then the inspector climbed up near the fresh air intake where the filter was, and he showed me it was covered in white and black fuzzy mold. That moment sent my anxiety through the roof. I realized I couldn’t stay there anymore. I moved out and ended up living in hotels for 14 months. During that time, there were visible signs people had been cutting corners. Kristina has her own story too. What meant the most was not having to constantly explain myself or prove that something happened. They supported me every step of the way. I still don’t know exactly where everything will end up, but I do know there are people who genuinely fight for you.”

"Kristina equips us with the scientific and expert resources to win.”

Reviewer Profile:

Workshop Attendee / Independent Trial Lawyer

Core Takeaway:

Confirms that toxicological and environmental science regarding mold illnesses is legally irrefutable, filling a critical gap left by general practitioners who routinely overlook toxic exposure diagnoses.

The Litigation Hurdle:

Overcoming medical skepticism and locating qualified expert witnesses willing to testify definitively on legal causation.

Our Industry Impact:

Serves as a primary educational resource for the legal community; organizes specialized networks that equip outside trial lawyers with vetted toxicological, medical, and environmental experts.

“I’m convinced after attending this workshop that toxic mold is a sleeping giant. It is out there. It is everywhere, and it’s hurting lots of people, and I want to do something about it. Mold is really making people sick — and really killing people. I think it’s one of those things that, until now, I had a fuzzy belief about, but I didn’t know that the science had developed to the point that it’s super, super solid. I think the biggest challenge is going to be finding doctors who believe my clients — their patients — when they walk in the door and say, ‘I think I’m getting sick from mold.’ I think these complaints are really, really easy for doctors to just miss. They’re not wired to look for mold as the cause. So finding doctors who will consider that as a cause, who know how to test for it as a cause, and who are willing to testify about the causality — that’s going to be critical. I feel better equipped to handle these cases after attending this event, mainly because there are so many amazing people here that Kristina has helped connect. We now have resources. We can reach out to each other. We can find experts to work with — both mold experts, environmental experts, and medical experts. So I’m really excited about pursuing these cases.”
