We represent the students and families working to rebuild their health after the university exposed them to a mold-infested high-rise.

WE ARE ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS FOR OSU HOUSING CONDITIONS

Ohio State University Prioritized Speed Over Student Safety

When parents pay a premium for accommodations at Lawrence Tower, they expect a safe environment for their children. Instead, Ohio State University failed these families when the administration knowingly moved freshmen into a former Holiday Inn property with un-remediated mold and asbestos issues, then attempted to minimize a building-wide crisis.

As part of our commitment to representing victims of toxic housing conditions living in campus dormitories, Just Well Law, in partnership with Bressman Law, is bringing claims against OSU after our investigation exposed a pattern of institutional disregard where the university crammed a two-year renovation project into just two months, thin hid serious environmental hazards from the students entrusted to its care.

OSU Dormitory Toxic Mold at Lawrence Tower

Freshmen students entered Lawrence Tower in August 2024, unloading their personal belongings into a toxic time bomb. Instead of an academic sanctuary, they found an environment where wallpaper separated from the walls to reveal black, yellow, and even purple mold. Ohio State initially blamed the infestation on a singular plumbing leak affecting only 40 rooms, but the evidence points to a building-wide failure.

The conditions inside the dormitory became undeniable when students discovered mushrooms growing out of the walls. Testing has further exposed extraordinary findings behind the surfaces of this former Holiday Inn property. We help students navigate the severe physical and cognitive aftermath of these exposures, validating the experiences of those who were told their symptoms were merely “stress” or “finals” while they were being physically dismantled by toxic air.

Symptoms are Evidence

We view health markers as biological evidence of institutional indifference. If you lived in Lawrence Tower and experienced these conditions, you may have been afflicted by toxins causing immune system collapse or Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS). We look for these specific indicators:

The High-Rise Betrayal

Students entered college to build a legacy, not to spend their futures recovering from the air they were forced to breathe.

OSU administrators gaslighted sick students by telling them their respiratory distress and neurological decline were merely "stress" or "finals" to hide their own structural failures. We are holding The Ohio State University accountable for this systemic deception.
